The company Cordes GmbH was founded by Werner Cordes, cabinet maker.

1960
First rollplate patented: The Möbelhund®.

1965
First folding Rollbox developed and presented: The KA-Corlette®.

1969
Parcel-Rollbox developed for the German Post.

1977
Corlette product scope extended to cover for example: Standard-Colette® Universal Colette® Furniture Colette®. Bicycle,Colette® Safe-Colette®.

1981
Begins manufacturing products later to become the Variofit product range.

1984
First-time annual turnover of more than 10 million German Marks.

1988
The Cordes GmbH product range receives the safety certification from the German authorities (TÜV).

1990
Furnibox developed for use in automatic high storage warehousing.

1994
Production sites extended to include a subsidiary company in Poland. This subsidiary company has now become a part of Cordes GmbH.

Werner Cordes retires, his son Martin Cordes receives new ownership.

Innaugeration of a sub company Transko GmbH for logistics service provision.

The Cordes GmbH product range receives the certification DIN ISO 9001 from the German authorities.

Development of Corlette to use in Pallet Racks and as well in Corlette Racks.

Foundation of Cordes Schweiz GmbH.

Development of new safety handles and plastic skids for trucks.

Development of the VARIOfit foot guard.

Development of new truck wheels with twopart steel rim and precision ball bearing.

Development of the central foot brake EasySTOP; European application of the brand EasySTOP at the german patent office.

2014
Increase of the VARIOfit production by 1.500 m² to 6.400 m². The production area under roof is now 26.000 m² in total.

2018
Official opening of the new additional powder coating and production hall building.

2019
Further welding robots starting and the new building for raw materials is set up.

2020
On the 85.000 m² large company estate 44.700 m² production area is now available.

Today
The Cordes group maintains over 550 employees and has an annual turnover in excess of 20 million Euros.
